You earn this rating by completing 2 pool dive sessions and knowledge development sessions and by making four open water ( Sea ) dives. As a certified PADI Open Water Diver you have the freedom to dive with a buddy independent of a professional.   Goals This course is designed to provide students with the elemental knowledge and skills they need to safely gain experience in the diving environment and, ultimately, to dive independently. All included skills are designed to be logical, realistic, and to apply to practical diving situations. Pre-requisites be at least 10 years of age for Junior Open Water Diver be at least 15 years of age for Open Water Diver possess reasonable aquatic ability without using equipment Course Overview This course is divided into three sections: Knowledge development Introduction to Diving Adapting to the Underwater World The Diving Environment Breathing Air at Depth, Introduction to the Recreational Dive Planner Recreational Dive Planner, Continuing Education Confined water (pool) training Open water dives Prior to certification, the student would need to successfully complete the following: FOUR Open Water dives which may be conducted over two days Open Water Diver Final Exam 200m swim 10 minutes survival float   Sea dive Itinerary for Malaysia Pulau Tioman Trip          Friday:   Meet at 1900hrs Sharp at a PADI Diving Centre Singapore for departure to Malaysia. Enroute via Kota Tinggi/Desaru junction for light supper about 10.30 pm (For approx 30mins).  Arrive jetty at approx 2359hrs and board dive boat/ferry to island.  Arrive island approx 0400hrs and check in to resort/chalet.   Sat:  Breakfast at 0800hrs follow by the 1st dive at 0900hrs Lunch at 1230hrs and rest before 1 more dives. 2nd dive conducted between 1330hrs-1750hrs (tea break in between). BBQ dinner at about 1930hrs, log dive after dinner and debrief then rest for the night.         Sun: Breakfast at 0730hrs follow by the 3rd and 4th dive between 0830hrs-1200hrs. Return to resort to take shower and pack up. Lunch at about 1230hrs. Leave island at about 1330hrs. Arrive jetty at about 1800hrs and board mini-bus  back to Singapore. Arrive back to Singapore at about 2200hrs - 2300hrs.   Note: All timings, locations are planned but may be subjected to changes. Dive site planning is also subjected to weather conditions.   Things to bring: A valid International passport (6 month validity) and work permit/green card if applicable, some RM40 to 50 for dinner and drinks on the way back , changes of clothing and towel , shorts, sandal, personal toiletries, jacket, sun shades, sun tan lotion, sea sickness pills if necessary.   Payment for the trip/course are to be settled upon signing up.
